PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
The XC box type extraction tank (also known as box mixing-settler) is a step-by-step contact liquid-liquid extraction equipment, mainly composed of mixing chamber, settling chamber, stirring system, etc. It realizes phase separation through stirring enhanced mass transfer and gravity sedimentation.
In terms of flow direction of material phase and organic solvent phase, it can be divided into countercurrent and parallel flow; in terms of stirring mode, it can be divided into turbine type (strong shearing, suitable for solid particles), propeller type (high viscosity), axial-radial combined paddle (three-dimensional cross-flow mixing, efficiency increased by about 30%); in terms of box structure, in addition to simple box mixers, there are multi-compartment, combined and other types of mixers.
The material to be extracted and organic solvent first enter the mixing chamber through their respective feed ports, and are mixed under the stirring of a stirring paddle at a certain speed. The solute in the material is partially transferred to the extractant, and then enters the settling chamber for natural phase separation due to density difference, with the upper layer being the light phase and the lower layer being the heavy phase. Finally, they enter different outlets respectively to complete the extraction process.
In actual production, extraction tanks are generally multi-stage series connected, equipped with multiple sections such as stripping, washing and regeneration. It is widely used in hydrometallurgy, rare and precious metal extraction, power battery recycling, chemical industry, new energy, new materials and other fields, especially suitable for process scenarios with suspended solids, easily emulsified solvent systems, long residence time or multi-stage series connection. Common solvent systems include P507, N235, P204, TBP, C272, etc.
